Create a profile and upload one of your tracks. You then let all your fans know that they can download your track for free from your Profile Page. But before each person can download your song they must tell at least three friends about your band using the email form on your page. So for every time your track is downloaded your name will go out to at least three potential new fans.

Why Do It?

The New Music Site can be an invaluable promotion tool for both signed and unsigned acts. Many artists (Radiohead, Coldplay) have promoted their live shows recently by giving away free material. Now that’s easy enough if you already have a huge fanbase - but for the newer acts getting your music heard is an absolute priority. Rather than giving away your material for free, with this site you get a free advert for your act sent to at least three people and you build up a database of your fans.

How to get the most out of The New Music Site?

First of all, we suggest using this site when you have a gig coming up or when you've recently recorded new tracks. Once you've uploaded a track, email all of your current fanbase with a direct link to your site so they can come and download your material. (If you've used this site before then you'll be able to email all your fans from the My Fanbase function from your Profile. For more information about this please look at 'What is My Fanbase?' below.)

As in any marketing/advertising campaign repetition is the key to success. We suggest that bands and artists use this site every couple of months (or more often if you have more tracks available).

The idea is that each time you upload a track you will be reaching out to a new audience. So every time you use the site after that you'll have more fans coming to your page to download your track. Then, through these new fans, you'll be reaching out to an even larger audience.

What is My Fanbase?

My Fanbase, which you'll find in My Profile once you've registered and signed in, is a way of communicating with all the people who’ve downloaded your tracks. Use this to email your fans to tell them about new songs that you've uploaded and about any upcoming shows that you have - and of course anything else you wish to share with your fanbase.
